Union Health - Joins the CareSource Health Plan Network
Union Health Agreement Increases Access to Care in West Central Indiana and Eastern Illinois

CareSource and Union Health have reached an agreement to provide quality access to health care for west central and Indiana CareSource members. Beginning in January 2018 Union Health will accept CareSource Marketplace members seeking health care and physician services.

The agreement gives CareSource Medicaid and now Marketplace members’ access to a wide variety of services at Union Hospital and Union Medical Group (formerly UAP Clinic and Union Hospital Medical Group).

Both Union Hospital and Union Medical Group will be part of the CareSource Marketplace product effective January 1, 2018. The addition of Union Hospital and Union Medical Group are not yet on the CareSource website as physicians are still in the credentialing process.

Union Hospital and Union Medical Group are also both part of CareSource HIP – Healthy Indiana Plan. Union Hospital and Union Medical Group specialists continue to be part of the CareSource Hoosier Healthwise product.

“We are excited to expand our network with the addition of Union Health. This alliance allows CareSource to continue its mission of providing the highest quality of access to care for our members” said Steve Smitherman Vice President and Executive Director CareSource Indiana.

A nonprofit health plan with a 28-year history, CareSource continues to invest in the health and well-being of Hoosiers through an expanding coverage area and provider network. CareSource serves thousands of Hoosiers through its Marketplace and Medicaid health care coverage.

UAP Clinic and Union Hospital exclusively partner with MDwise to offer Marketplace insurance plans

TERRE HAUTE-March 17, 2014 - UAP Clinic and Union Hospital announced a partnership with the Indiana not-for-profit health insurance company MDwise. The partnership allows UAP Clinic and Union Hospital to serve as the exclusive providers for MDwise Marketplace insurance plans in both Vigo and Vermillion counties.

As part of the Affordable Care Act, many Hoosiers are now searching for a health insurance plan through the government Marketplace. With the open enrollment deadline of March 31 nearing, now is the time for those without insurance to make plan selections and avoid facing tax penalties.

"We are excited to offer our MDwise Marketplace health plans to residents of Vigo and Vermillion County," said Charlotte MacBeth, president of MDwise. "We understand the needs of Hoosiers and we are committed to providing the industry's best assistance needed to guide them through the decision-making process and help them understand their health plan options."

MDwise is Indiana's only not-for-profit health insurance company focused on giving uninsured and underserved Hoosiers the compassionate service and care they want and need. MDwise Marketplace plans include access to Indiana's top ranked doctors and hospitals that no other plans cover in network. By choosing a MDwise Marketplace plan, Hoosiers will have the ability to utilize both UAP Clinic and Union Hospital services. MDwise is the only provider that offers services at both of those locations.

The Marketplace (www.HealthCare.gov) is a resource center where individuals, families and small businesses can learn about health coverage options, compare health insurance plans based on costs, benefits and other important features, chose a plan and enroll in coverage. Certified navigators can help individuals through this process, and are available through ClaimAid. For more about ClaimAid, please visit www.claimaid.com.

The local representative for ClaimAid is Betty Fagg, who can be reached at 812-238-7967. Betty's office is located at Union Hospital and also welcomes in-person meetings.
